The vessel M/V Shamrock was designed for the Canadian owner SPM Shipping. The vessel was constructed by Ferrostahl, Germany. The hull was built by Galatz Shipyard in Romania and then transferred to Germany for the outfitting. The vessel was delivered in 2001.

Two vessels were delivered to the design. They have been built by Ørskov Christensen Shipyard, Denmark (Hull no. 185 (M/S Gertie), 186 (M/S Maersk Euro Quinto)).

The vessel was developed for the German owner Herman Buss and was ordered at a Chinese Shipyard and delivered in 2004. The unique feature for this vessel is the high intake and speed compared to the size of the vessel (GT).

Three vessels were delivered to the design. They have all been built by Ørskov Christensen Shipyard, Denmark (Hull no. 153 (M/S Norasia Melita), 154 (M/S Norasia Adria), 160 (M/S Maersk Lima)).
