The ship was designed with a strong focus on the expedition segment in the cruise business, thus designed with a large number of zodiacs and equipment for trips to the shore. |

The vessel was designed for and built by Nystad Varv, Finland. The vessel was delivered as M/V Lindblad Explorer in 1969.The vessel was the first real purposebuilt expedition cruise vessel. The vessel is operated by Abercrombie & Kent for expedition cruises world-wide. |

M/S Sarfaq Ittuk
The vessel was designed for and built by Ørskov Christensen Shipyard, Denmark.The vessel was delivered to Arctic Umiaq Line, Greenland in 1992.Further two sister vessels were built to the same design. Two of the vessels, Sarfaq Ittuk and Sarpik Ittuk were lengthened in 2000. The vessels have been fitted for short international cruises and ferry operation along the coastline of Greenland. |

M/S World Discoverer
The vessel was designed for and built by the former Schichau Unterweser, Germany. The vessel was built as BEWA Discoverer, but during construction the owners went bankrupt. Finally, the vessel was sold to Society Expeditions who operated her untill 2000 when she grounded and was declared a constructive loss. |
